Bidsketch Review: Makes Building Proposals Easy

Proposals – something which every digital marketing, web design, graphic design or communications company has to compile on a daily basis. It cannot be ignored, but it is a time-consuming process. At the end of the day, as a business, you want to win every piece of work which comes from good clients. IĀ spend hours compiling strong and detailed proposals which are backed up with experience and case studies. A lot of this work IĀ do is very similar, digital marketing from business to business does not change much really. Yes, the results are different but across the board the method is broadly similar, therefore there is a lot of copy and pasting, tweaking and fine-tuning around the edges. As a business, IĀ thought, how can IĀ make this process a whole lot simpler. Enter Bidsketch.

Bidsketch Review

bidsketch

Bidsketch?

Yes, Bidsketch. The brainchild ofĀ Ruben Gamez who started the company back in 2009 with a simple mission ofĀ taking away the pain from the proposal process and closing the deal.

What does Bidsketch do?

Simply put, they take all of the hassle out of winning new clients, by giving you the tools to create, edit, submit and get proposal approved online. Just like most bright ideas, it’s so simple, why did nobody think of it sooner!

Indepth look at Bidsketch

Bidsketch is a feature rich set of tools, but there are six areas which Bidsketch point out to us, these are: Easy Proposals, Happy Clients, Electronic Signatures, Analytics, Integrations, and Flexible Branding. All these features help to bring down the proposal time from 3 hours to 45 minutes, according to Daina Reed, the Creative Director. Sounds promising.

Easy Proposals

Having a look over the easy proposals section on Bidsketch, it is clear that their approach can make your proposals work for you. Not only can you simply reusing module style content, but you can completely customise your design or even choose from several templates. The biggest claim, however, is that you can get 32% more profit with optional fees. To many business, upselling can make or break your business. It is great to see that Bidsketch has covered this base in their system. It’s simple for the business to upsell, and clear enough for the client to see x,y and z.

Happy Clients

As a business owner, having happy clients is not just the cherry on the cake but it is the core of my business. Happy clients who make money from their site, means IĀ get more work, more referrals. A win-win situation. Bidsketch helps you to make your clients happier with simple landing pages, automated client workflow, and a simple dashboard for all your client details (some CRM functionality here).

Electronic Signature

Electronic signatures. Need I say more? Okay, as a business owner I know that getting pen to paper and getting a contract signed is the number one priority after giving great service. In the age of emails it is difficult to get 100% secure contracts, Bidsketch electronic signature functionality makes this a breeze, plus they are compliant with US and International e-signature laws.

Analytics and Comments

Have they received our proposal? Yes, no, maybe? Whatever the answer there is a host of email tennis between you and the client and sometimes the odd phone call chucked in. Bidsketch have streamlined the whole process with their analytics and commenting systems. Get the information instantly so you can make the deal quicker. We all love a quick turn around.

Integrations

Connections between your online applications can give you a right headache sometimes. That is why Bidsketch have include some great integrations as standard with: Basecamp, FreshBooks, Harvest, Highrise, Salesforce, and RightSignature.

Flexible Branding

We all love a bit of white labelling. It gives your business that professional edge. Bidsketch covers this by letting the clients visit your domain and develop a consistent client experience.

As you can see, these features cover just about every base I can think of. A great app by Bidsketch.

How much does Bidsketch cost?

There is a free 14 day trial, so no worries if you don’t get on with the tools. If you do, then it is priced reasonably, however, in my opinion it is a bargain as it will save you atleast an hour per proposal. How much is that worth to you?

  1. I thought Bidsketch was pretty good when I tried it, however it didn’t give me the fine-grained control over the layout and design that I wanted.

I found a cool app called Proposify: http://proposify.biz/ and it’s more like working with InDesign or Google Drive, you can choose a theme and then customize how it’s designed.

I only wish it had the custom domains like Bidsketch, still it’s a great alternative.

    • Thanks Paula, great recommendation. I will check out Proposify soon. Still Bidsketch, however, does everything I need it to do at the moment. Unless Proposify offers a truly new feature that I didn’t know I needed.
